NPA's Power School (formerly known as the Core Organizer Training) transforms emerging activists into effective agents of change and builds the capacity to challenge the status quo.
For over 35 years, NPA's trainings have transformed emerging activists and organizers into some of the most creative, effective and courageous agents of change in the country. NPA-trained organizers go on to direct national community organizing networks, lead cutting-edge national social justice campaigns, and direct some of the most visionary local, state, and regional community organizations in the country.

Power School Training Components
Power School is broken into three components: Skill Development, Personal Transformation, and Community Building. Organizers and leaders are equipped to build power through grassroots organizing, offered opportunity for internal growth, and connect with others for the long haul of creating change.
1. Skill Development
You will develop the essential skills and learn key concepts that will demystify organizing and make you a skillful organizer for the rest of your life. You will learn how to connect with the community, move people to action, force decision makers to the table, develop indigenous leadership, and build coalitions that broaden the power of everyday people.
2. Personal Transformation
You will explore and uncover your strength as a person and tune into your own ability in new and powerful ways. Power School challenges you to realize your full potential and truly understand, and grow your power to directly challenge the status quo and create a more just and equitable society.
3. Community
Power School is more than a weeklong experience. The training is your entryway into a large organizing family. You will build lasting relationships with your peers and with seasoned organizers and directors--all of whom will be invested in your growth and development for years to come.
Power School is led by the NPA Training Team, a collective of 12 Executive Directors, Organizing Consultants, Lead Organizers and National Community Leaders from around the country.
